7 Saskatoon Wedding Venues I Love

Every few years I love to share some of my favourite Wedding Venues in Saskatoon and area. Here are some of my current favourites – which don’t include hotels! And I’ve included a little write up as to why I love so much – if you’re planning a wedding soon be sure to read through to the end!

In no particular order:

A large building with an open field surrounding it and a big entrance into it in an impressive display of modern rustic architecture.

The Glen at Crossmount

Aside from being a completely gorgeous venue with a huge capacity and lovely staff, this new venue is extremely close to Saskatoon and one of my favourite outdoor areas for true Saskatchewan beauty – Cranberry Flats. There is a huge reason why this area has become incredibly popular for so many weddings and portrait sessions through the summer season – with easy access to the river and gentle rolling hills, walking trails, and look-out points, it’s a true gem and only 5 minutes away from The Glen. Speaking of the Glen, this wheelchair accessible venue has floor to ceiling windows, an indoor AND outdoor ceremony location, a gorgeous getting ready room it’s truly a one stop shop for traditional couples.

Glass & Lumber

This historical venue that just underwent a huge renovation while still keeping true to the character of the space is located right in the heart of Saskatoon. It is a perfect option for couples who are opting to have a smaller celebration in an intimate location. There is a licensed patio out the side door and can be rented in conjunction with a local coffee shop – The Underground Cafe. Surrounding the main doors to Glass and Lumber you’ll have floor to ceiling windows and a beautiful wood beam ceiling with a modern rustic edge. At the back of the venue, you’ll also have a complete bar area and an overheard customizable image projector which can include you names and wedding date, the venue name or something else entirely. If Retro-Rustic with easy access to all of Saskatoon is on your wish-list, be sure to check out their website.

Wanuskewin Heritage Park

Another gorgeous venue with strong cultural ties – it’s mission is to advance the understanding and appreciation of the evolving cultures of the Northern Plains Indigenous peoples. (credit – Wanuskewin website)

The park has areas for both outdoor and indoor ceremony locations, from the Amphitheatre outdoors, to their new in December 2020 facility. They offer catering for meals but are strictly a dry venue.

One of the great benefits of choosing Wanuskewin for your wedding is that there is no shortage of things for your guests to see and do during any portrait times. There are Bison on the property and a huge look-out area where guests can go to admire these amazing animals in their natural state. There is also a wonderful museum on the property, along with Tours and Traditional Powwow Dances and Drumming Presentations that can be booked. Dances may already be planned on weekends if weather permits – check their website for the most up to date information.

For portraits, there are ample walking trails and overlooks with amazing views at all times of the day – truly a gem of Saskatchewan.

Saskatoon Forestry Farm

From a large indoor venue to a small outdoor ceremony, the local Saskatoon Forestry Farm has a number of options to fit your style and budget. There is certainly a reason why it is one of the most popular wedding venues and photo locations in Saskatoon – it’s a classic. Young guests can be easily entertained the Zoo during portraits by all the animals, and many other guests will enjoy simply walking around the gorgeous gardens filled with blooms from spring through fall. There is a small pond stocked with fish – it’s a low key classic option, especially wonderful for people who love the outdoor but don’t want to leave the city limits.

Remai Modern

Saskatoon’s newest Museum offers entertaining options you won’t find anywhere else. From buying out the entire museum for the ultimate private function, to gallery tours and hands-on art projects, movies, and more – it’s so much more than an incredible modern event space. With a rooftop patio, endless windows with a breathtaking view of the Meewasin River Valley and some of the most well kept walking paths in Saskatoon – you’ll find it checks a lot of boxes. Every time I’ve attended a function here I’ve been very impressed with the quality of interactions I’ve recieved from staff who go out of their way to ensure things run smoothly.

Western Development Museum

If you’ve been in Saskatoon long, you’ve heard of the Western Development Museum – or WDM as local refer to it – featuring “Boom Town” – a replica town situated in the heart of the museum which features a full size locomotive engine, a working cafe, and interactive displays from many buildings that you can walk through and hear stories from, it’s a great place to spend time that your guests will love – even if they have visited before. This venue seems very Western in the museum, but the event space immediately ajoining it is modern and elegant. With ample free parking and a seating capacity of up to 450 people – it’s a fantastic option for large weddings, and is also located very close to Cranberry Flats (mentioned above!)

Moon Lake Golf and Country Club

The furthest out of Saskatoon on to make this list, Moon Lake Golf and Country Club is located only 10 minutes out of the city. It’s a gorgeous venue with tonnes of outdoor space for ceremonies and they have a heated tented banquet facility directly behind the Station, which is perfect for wedding receptions. Just a short walk from the main building is lake access with amazing sunset views, walking trails lit with twinkling lights through the trees, and of course the Golf Course itself. Take a golf cart with your bridal party and speed down to a quaint rock bridge that goes over a winding creek bed. The staff here was very helpful and I can’t wait to go back here again!
